Final small town of that day....Bristol, South Dakota!

Someone loves to collect old gas station signs, for sure!!! In this little town of Bristol is also an antique store that is in an old elementary school. It isn't a little school and if you are EVER in the area, this would be your one stop shopping place! Didn't capture pictures of the shop, but a few things in it.....another way of looking at "signs" of the times, indeed!!!

and then there are these....."signs of the times"!!!!

Getting to work! Thankful for a job that I can also create when time allows! Hope this finds you all having a great day and a productive day!!!

I'm sure....

Time for a break....

This was in the A&W restaurant....complete with the classics!!!

Last official franchise in South Dakota!!!

I am thirsty for a root beer!!!

I Love the WILD-LIFE!!!

In between towns at the moment.....came across these wonderful animals just past Crandall!

Hello there!!!

Once a railroad went through here! Yes, long ago!

This tree is beautiful....it was almost
spiritual seeing it....

"Sign of the Times"......

Finishing up with "Webster" and no, it doesn't have to do with dictionaries!!!!

Crandall, South Dakota......spare tire showing the way!!!

Yep, that is us!!!! This is on the door of the gas station in Crandall, South Dakota.....however before we got there as this is out in the middle of nowhere land.....a tire had to point us in the right direction!!! No kidding!!!

See....

One...up-to-date street sign!

And one amazing gas station!!!!

See the numbers telling you how much gas.....enlarge the picture and look close!

Well, I also took pictures of the outhouse for this gas station, but didn't put it here for now. I think a book on just pictures of outhouses would be a cool book.....well, maybe not to some of you, but I am old enough to say that I had to use one when visiting my grandparents in Avon, South Dakota. There were two places to sit, hanging toilet paper and reading material! I had my fear like any young person at the time that I would fall in or spiders would get me!
~
I hope this finds everyone having a good day! I have been reading so much on blogs about swaps and being featured. It is fun to see what everyone comes up with. I would like to do that or when I get my creative juices flowing or feature more of what I have already made that I can do a swap or be featured on someone else's blog....oh, what a great thing that would be!
~
Excitement around here with baseball, company and a car accident....with the latter, everyone is ok and that is what counts! Staying busy at the antique store and wonderful people buying my jewelry and birdfeeders and such....just makes my day when people appreciate my creations! Well, I sure appreciate all the ones I see on the blogs!!!
Blessings, debbie

Doland, South Dakota.....Wizard of Oz!

Hello! Are you there?!

Never heard of this theatre.....LOVE THE NAME!!!

Doland, South Dakota....
population....again,
"not very many" people...

Originally, the Opera House. My manager at the antique store, Joan, did the painting on the lower level of the building......like I said, taking you to
OZ....

Just like the sign says,

"Riley Opera House"

The Wizard of Oz.....now showing!!!

Welcome!!!!

Different vantage point!

Oh, when the ladies dressed up!

And featuring Donald to spur you on
to buy refreshments
before the show starts!

Doland, South Dakota.....small town America!!!!

Isn't this fun?! More to come...... Yes, I know I need to get some creating done, but you know, we always say we are going to visit this place or do that.....spend time with good friends just appreciating what is around us.....making memories!!! ~deb

Frogland??? No, Turton, South Dakota!!! Population..."not very many"...people

I don't know who painted this sign, but I love it!!! This is the beginning of our tour of "Frog Land", so to speak. Another time, I will take you to Oz, the town we visited first on our day trip to small towns. I was just anxious to show you this town and all the frogs!!!

Yes, this is me and I AM petting the frog! Nice froggee!

My friend, Wanda.....she drove and likes frogs, too!

I just love murals and sooooo, I took tons of pictures here of this one. Feel free to copy and paste and do whatever you want with some of these close-ups!

When is the last time you have seen a wooden street sign?

This was a dance hall, now used for motor/garage storage.

The Catholic Church!!!

Before I went into the church, I caught sight of these frogs and their set up close to the church!

Now, this is livin'!!!

OK, I finally got inside the church. It doesn't matter what denomination, there is nothing more soothing than being in a sanctuary!

Stained glass windows....oh, the art in that!!!

I am not Catholic, but I believe this is where you light candles to say prayers for people? This is beautiful!

Outside again....

The school houses were usually named by what land they were built on...I didn't know this. Did any of you?

What can I say....I thought the mailbox was cool...too bad it had a modern
padlock on it!

My favorite favorite picture!!! If you only knew.....this says quite a lot!!!

Yep, I like this!!!

........
Oh, and did I mention the GIANT grasshopper!!!!

Have a great day, evening, weekend!!!!
